Here we have another rarity! A 3 1/2" gauge LMS (Midland Railway) 2P class 4-4-0. We've not seen another completed one of these before to the Don Young design. A nicely made model, with competent model engineering, this one promises to be a lovely little runner once we've steam tested it and got it ready to go.
The boiler is the usual copper silver soldered job, and certainly looks neatly enough put together. As with all the locos that pass through The Steam Workshop, we can of course give the loco a full hydraulic test before she leaves the works so you can be confident she's a gudun!
There is currently the valve and clack for an injector in place, waiting for the plumbing to be done and an injector fitting. The hand pump is fitted and plumbed through. The eccentric for an axle pump is fitted but the pump and straps and plumbing has, by the looks of things never been done. Lubrication is mechanical and hidden under the front running boards as per usual, however it is presently also not plumbed in although the clack is present on the underside of the lubricator.
