5" Forney 0-4-4

Here we have another one that's a bit on the unusual and rare side!  A 5" gauge 0-4-4 Forney type locomotive, scratch built using a 7 1/4" gauge Ken Swan 'Bridget' boiler amongst other things!  A lot of thought and skill has gone into making this one, the rear coupling eye for example is actually free floating through the rear buffer beam, and instead fixed to a swing frame pivoted from under the cab, just behind the driving wheels, so that the engine is more stable over it's long wheelbase when hauling.

She's fitted with footplate operated dampers on both the left and right hand side of the ashpan.  Lights in both the headlamp and cab are switched and battery powered,.... there's even a gauge bell hidden between the cylinders underneath at the front that dings as you pull the lever for the little 'dummy' one on the top of the dome.

There is a crosshead pump for getting the water in and a footplate mounted bypass valve, twin injectors on both the left and right, and of course a hand pump tucked neatly away underneath the cab footplate.  Again, all in all this is a well thought out thing, and it's fully tested, with a twice working pressure 4 year hydraulic test and a fresh annual steam test and is ready to hit the track.

For more information please give me a bell on 07816 963463

Sorry its sold!
