Here we have a rather lovely 2" Burrell Scenic Showmans built to the 'Thetford Town' design. Rarer and more detailed than the 2" Plastow Fowler Showmans design, the Thetford town is a pretty faithful reproduction of the real thing. This model has been on display in the previous owner's home for many years, and although she has been steamed in the past, doesn't appear generally to have seen a great deal of use. The boiler is silver soldered copper and can of course come with fresh hydraulic and steam tests so she's ready to play.

We often photograph models pretty much as they come in to us, and then when someone phones to say they are interested we pull the model into our workshops and make sure everything is tested, sorted and ready to go. So if you see the odd model photograph with a fitting missing or a return crank in the wrong place, that's just how it came in and certainly not how it will leave.
