Here we have, advertised on behalf of our friends down at Berrybrook Steam, a nice example of the well-designed 2" Scale A7 Fowler Traction Engine of M. J. Engineering. The boiler on this one is made of copper in 1998 by Cheddar Models, a company well known for making quality model boilers. The engine itself is sound and runs nicely. It is fitted with the typical mechanical water pump and injector. The included wagon also has a hand pump for putting water directly into the boiler for those panicky moments!
The engine will be accompanied by quite a wad of paperwork detailing a range of historic boiler reports from a range of sources. At time of writing the engine is in ticket and expires 05/12/2018. We can offer to test the engine but due the relatively small size of the boiler, we recommend you talk it through with us for your options.
Looking through the paperwork, it looks as if this engine was originally green but repainted to its current, very pleasant, livery in 2010. It also was fitted with vulcanised rubber tyres in 2009. Included is a few interesting photographs of the build process.
As touched upon, the ride on driving trailer is included and matches the livery on the engine nicely.
Overall, a fantastic piece of model engineering, built to a very high standard and finished nicely.
