3 1/2" Feldbahn 0-8-0T

Here we have a particularly beautifully detailed 3 1/2" gauge Orenstein & Koppell Feldbahn 0-8-0 tank.  Again we believe this is another unique model that we were pleased to acquire a few years ago.  We love to put our own stamp on the rare stuff, so she's been sitting in our workshop queue for a good while awaiting her slot for a repaint into something a little fresher, and a tidy up of her backhead.  As always we just keep getting busier and busier here at Steam Workshop, and so the smaller stuff doesn't seem to be getting much of a look in,.... hence the decision to make this one available to a new home.

The “Feldbahn” design refers to a standard German Army Field Railway (Deutscher Feldbahn, DFB) loco originally introduced in 1907. No less than 2473 Field Railway (Feldbahn) locomotives were built by fourteen different manufacturers up to the end of the First World War.  The remarkable aspect of these locos is the flexible 0-8-0 wheelbase, whereby the leading and trailing axles are arranged with exaggerated sideplay and an ability to “steer” round sharp curves.

The model hasn't run for a few years, having been in store following the passing of her builder.  She can of course come fully tested and ready to play after recommissioning in our workshops.  For more information do please feel free to give us a bell for a chat

As with most of our models, what you see isn't necessarily what you get!  We often photograph models pretty much as they come in to us, and then when someone phones to say they are interested we pull the model into our workshops and make sure everything is tested, sorted and ready to go.  So if you see the odd model photograph with a fitting missing or a return crank in the wrong place, that's just how it came in and certainly not how it will leave.

For any more information please don't hesitate to give us a bell on 07816 963463
