3 1/2" Class 4 Tank

Here we have a 3 1/2" gauge Stanier class 4 tank, to the well proven and ever popular Martin Evans 'Jubilee' design.  Not an uncommon design, due to their manageable size and useful performance, and this one comes to us ready to play.

It's obviously not a new build, and the paintwork on the boiler is a little on the 'textured' side.  That said, mechanically it's well machined and constructed, and the overall synopsis is that it's a good, solid and usable loco.  There is an injector, and also an axle pump with footplate mounted bypass, and the ubiquitous emergency hand pump in the tank.  The draincocks are operated from the footplate.  Lubrication is the usual mechanical job under the front footplate.

This is essentially a nicely made loco, and represents a relatively inexpensive route to owning a well proven and handsome prototypical 3 1/2" gauge Stanier class 4 tank.

As with most of our models, what you see isn't necessarily what you get!  We often photograph models pretty much as they come in to us, and then when someone phones to say they are interested we pull the model into our workshops and make sure everything is tested, sorted and ready to go.  So if you see the odd model photograph with a fitting missing or a return crank in the wrong place, that's just how it came in and certainly not how it will leave.
