Here we have a great start to a 5" BR Britannia built we believe to the Perrier design. The boiler is a brand new, professional silver soldered by Don Brook. It's a combustion chamber boiler so it ought to steam very freely. The Machining work all looks nice and tidy, and generally the detail work on the bottom end is really nice. The cylinders look really neatly executed and nice touches like the covers and pressure release valves all add to the impression of confidence that the builder knew what he was doing.
The same story goes with the tender which is equally well made and detailed. Even down to the working water scoop and scale water filter boxes. All in all there's all the big bits finished here so a really solid start to a cracking Britt.
You may also know that we have all the Doug Hewson Britannia super detail parts available from our online store, so certainly a large portion of the correct scale castings and laser cuts are available to complete the model from it's current stage.
