Here we have another 5" gauge 'Butch' 0-6-0, this time with a brand new professional copper boiler on it. The engine is a runner, but has not had the draughting sorted properly since the brand new boiler was fitted. It steams up well, and has no problems making steam when stationary, but as soon as you take it for a run the fire begins to dwindle. She's priced to sell as she is because we are super busy in the workshops, but if you'd like us to sort out the air flow and draughting for you, then that's of course no problem at all,.... we've included the two price options below.
The machining work on the valve gear is basic and chunky, but functional. Certainly solidly built rather than delicately machined! The story is similar with the bodywork, everything is there but it is simply made and straight forwardly assembled. Everything works as it should of course, but the value in this model is the lovely boiler.
There is an injector fitted, an axle pump for the water and of course the hand pump in the usual Butch location of the rear bunker. Lubrication is mechanical and hidden under the front footplate.
