Here we have another 5" gauge GWR 14xx 0-4-2 tank. This, like so many has it's roots in a Modelworks kit, but is a proven runner, having been constructed by someone who understood model engineering. It's been fitted with a decent mechanical lubricator under the front footplate, and the valve gear shows the tell tale signs of having been 'tweaked' to make it run properly. There is an injector fitted, as well as the mechanical crosshead pump between the frames (bypass valve on the footplate), and then there is the emergency hand pump hidden in the right hand tank. Draincocks are proper jobs, (the modelworks ones having been ditched), and control is again from the footplate.
This is essentially a brand new loco, with only the very minimal of running time under it's belt just to make sure all is well. The boiler is therefore a brand new professional copper silver soldered one.
Generally a tidy modelworks 14xx, with a few nice additional details to push it a little more toward the real thing.
