Here we have a 5″ gauge GWR small prairie tank 45xx, or rather 4575 class. Based upon a Winson/Modelworks kit, this one has been re-worked mechanically to make it actually work by a capable model engineer. Cosmetically it's quite a tidy model, and doesn't appear to have been abused in any way.
There is a pair of injectors fitted and a hand pump in the tank. There is also a crosshead water pump in the usual prototypical GWR location although it's not currently plumbed in, the previous owner preferring the second injector instead. Draincocks are footplate operated, and lubrication on this one is via a large displacement reservoir under the footplate floor and regulatable sight feed glass in the cab.
The boiler is the usual professionally made job, and she is fully certificated and ready to play.
As with most of our models, what you see isn't necessarily what you get!
We often photograph models pretty much as they come in to us, and then when someone phones to say they are interested we pull the model into our workshops and make sure everything is tested, sorted and ready to go. So if you see the odd model photograph with a fitting missing or a return crank in the wrong place, that's just how it came in and certainly not how it will leave.
