Here we have a super rare beast, a 5" Gauge GWR Castle, and a nice example too! As you can see from the photos this is a full 4 cylinder machine that came to us brand new and completely un-steamed. Since then we've spent nearly 2 years in our workshops working through all the niggly issues that always come with complicated engines that are brand new and untested. The Castle finally passed it's steam test a couple of weeks ago and is now ready to go!
The boiler is a professionally made silver soldered copper one and the machining work on the engine is very capably done, as is the detail of which there is a great deal! (A double edged sword for sure when you're trying to commission it!). If you'd prefer it with the larger and later 4000 gallon tender, we have one of those in stock too, so we are happy to have a conversation about repainting that tender to match this loco.

As with most of our models, what you see isn't necessarily what you get! We often photograph models pretty much as they come in to us, and then when someone phones to say they are interested we pull the model into our workshops and make sure everything is tested, sorted and ready to go. So if you see the odd model photograph with a fitting missing or a return crank in the wrong place, that's just how it came in and certainly not how it will leave.
