5" GWR King

Here we have a 5" gauge GWR King Class, 6028 'King George VI'.  Originally finished in 1992, and made to a nice standard with subtly nice details like the square section bogie springs and prototypically scale safety valves.  The model has clearly been a popular runner, and although showing obvious signs of use,the loco has still got plenty of life in it yet.  The previous owner has re-painted a few areas that were obviously showing signs of cosmetic wear and tear, and so as you can just about make out from the photographs there are several subtly different shades of green on the bodywork that whilst noticeable, don't detract too much from the general appearance of the model.

Fitted with an injector, twin axle pumps between the frames and a footplate mounted bypass valve and of course the hand pump in the tender.  lubrication is mechanical with a large reservoir between the frames, and it feeds through the three sight feed glasses on the footplate.  The left hand one feeds through a hollow stay into the left hand cylinder, the middle one feeds through another hollow stay to the right hand cylinder, and finally the right hand sight feed feeds under the loco and in through the smoke box floor to enter the steam feed to the middle pair of valves.

The boiler is silver soldered copper and comes with a fresh 4 year hydraulic test as well as a fresh annual steam test so she is ready to play.
