Here we have another loco that is somewhat of a rarity. A 5" gauge LMS, Somerset & Dorset 7F. A part built loco with a solid boiler, that appears to have been built for weight! The builder was planning to enter the loco into IMLEC, and so everything has been built with that weight and robustness in mind. The boiler also has extra stays in it suggesting that the intention was to run the loco at a higher pressure than the usual 90psi. The valve gear and machining work generally is to a decent standard, and certainly most of the hard work has been done.
We are super busy here in the workshop at the moment, so apologies for the lack of written information here at the moment!
