5" LMS 'Austin 7'

Here we have a really interesting and rare project.  A 5" gauge LMS Fowler 7F 'Austin 7'.  175 of these locos, (also classed as G3s under the LNWR classification system) were built at the start of the 1930s and they did good work pulling the heavy freight trains of the era.  This is an air running chassis (although as you'll see from the video, the timing could do with a tweak!), and the machining work and attention to detail is absolutely first class.  The builder was clearly a skilled model engineer, and some of the detailing work and finesse that he's put into things like oil passageways and linkages is of medal winning quality.

With a boiler added and the right model engineer to finish it, this has the makings of a stunning locomotive,.... we only wish that it were economically viable for us to complete it here at The Steam Workshop as it's uniqueness and potential make it in our view an extremely attractive project.

SORRY IT'S SOLD!!!
