Here we have another well engineered 5" gauge LNER B1 to Martin Evans 'Springbok' design. This one looks to have been a regular performer in the past, although everything is still nice and mechanically pretty tight. Numbered 1005, in LNER livery as 'Bongo', she's in a tidy, presentable condition consistent with a model that is used but well cared for.
She is fitted with an injector, a mechanical axle pump with footplate fitted bypass valve and of course a big hand pump in the tender. Lubrication is from a large mechanical reservoir on the running board with the usual Springbok regulator valves, so you should be able to run most of the day without having to worry too much about stopping to top up all the time! Interestingly the tender is rigged up with a vacuum cylinder and vac brakes, with presumably an ejector pipe in the smoke box to remove the air.
We have hydrauliced the boiler with a fresh twice working pressure 'shell test', and it's nice and sound, so can be given a full fresh 4 year hydraulic test certificate and a fresh annual steam test so that she is ready to hit the track.
