Here we have a brand new and un-steamed 5" gauge LNER B1 built to the Springbok design. This is a crisp build with a very neat and professional looking silver soldered copper boiler. There's some lovely detailing on this one too, with the dynamo on the front running board, the sand boxes and scale lubricators.
Mechanically the valve gear is particularly nicely made with the lovely little oil pots machined in as per the prototype. There's a big lubricator hidden under the front running boards feeding both cylinders independently. There are twin axle pumps with footplate mounted bypass valve as well as two injectors and a hand pump in the tender, so getting water in shouldn't be an issue!
Cosmetically as you'd expect for a brand new loco everything is nice and tidy and fresh, the only real negative is that the lining on the left hand side of the tender hasn't quite been finished. We can certainly have a look at finishing that off here in the workshops if you'd like so have a chat to us if it's something you'd like finishing off.
As with most of our models, what you see isn't necessarily what you get! We often photograph models pretty much as they come in to us, and then when someone phones to say they are interested we pull the model into our workshops and make sure everything is tested, sorted and ready to go. So if you see the odd model photograph with a fitting missing or a return crank in the wrong place, that's just how it came in and certainly not how it will leave.
