Here we have a recently re-furbished 6" scale Savage 'Little Sampson' Traction Engine. The professional steel boiler from AJB Boilers was built in 2012, and has just been freshly re-tubed, ultrasonically tested and given a fresh 10 year hydraulic and fresh annual steam test.
This engine came to us looking a little worse for wear cosmetically so we've stripped it down and been through everything to refurbish, fettle, re-bush and re-paint to make sure all's well and that it looks fresh and new again. It's a really good size tractor this weighing in at around a ton and a half, and easily large enough to accommodate two drivers on the back without being over balanced. There is the usual injector fitted as well as the crank pump with footplate mounted bypass valve. Everything runs really smoothly and she's fully road registered (currently SORN) so she's now freshly outshopped and ready for a clean run into her second decade!
We are super busy here in the workshop at the moment, so apologies for the lack of written information here at the moment! We have an ever increasing backlog of models that we need to get listed up for sale, and so have prioritised getting them photographed, priced and live for sale. As with most of our models, what you see isn't necessarily what you get!
We often photograph models pretty much as they come in to us, and then when someone phones to say they are interested we pull the model into our workshops and make sure everything is tested, sorted and ready to go. So if you see the odd model photograph with a fitting missing or a return crank in the wrong place, that's just how it came in and certainly not how it will leave.
