7 1/4" CB&Q 2-10-4

Here we have quite a beast of a model! A 7 1/4" gauge Chicago, Burlington & Quincy 2-10-4!

The Chicago, Burlington & Quincy Railroad received twelve 'Texas' type locomotives from the Baldwin Locomotive Works in 1927 and another six arrived in 1929. On the CB&Q the 2-10-4s were called "Colorados". They were designated Class M-4 and were assigned road numbers 6310 through 6327. They were built with 64" diameter drivers, 31" x 32" cylinders, a 250 psi boiler pressure, they had a rated with a tractive effort of 90,000 pounds and each weighed 512,110 pounds. Sadly none survived into preservation.

More details to follow very shortly, but for now have a good look at the photos and give us a bell if you'd like to know any more!

As with most of our models, what you see isn't necessarily what you get!

We often photograph models pretty much as they come in to us, and then when someone phones to say they are interested we pull the model into our workshops and make sure everything is tested, sorted and ready to go.  So if you see the odd model photograph with a fitting missing or a return crank in the wrong place, that's just how it came in and certainly not how it will leave.

For any more information please don't hesitate to give us a bell on 07816 963463
