Here we have a particularly beautiful and unique loco. A 7 1/4" gauge Midland Railway Johnson 4-4-0 2183 Class of around 1892. The class (and their slightly earlier iterations the 1738 Class) were called 'Beatrice' after Royal Jubilee Saltaire Exhibition of 1887, where it won a gold medal. This is an old model, having been in the previous family collection for over 60 years, and it was an old model when acquired back in the 60s. The copper boiler will of course be given a fresh twice working pressure shell test as well as a fresh steam test.
More details to be added very shortly after we've made a dent in the backlog of locos awaiting photography!
As with most of our models, what you see isn't necessarily what you get!
We often photograph models pretty much as they come in to us, and then when someone phones to say they are interested we pull the model into our workshops and make sure everything is tested, sorted and ready to go. So if you see the odd model photograph with a fitting missing or a return crank in the wrong place, that's just how it came in and certainly not how it will leave.
