7 1/4" Royal Scot

Here we have a really nicely presented 7 1/4" gauge LMS Fowler Royal Scot.  As with the vast majority of the Henry Greenly designed Scots this one is a 2 cylinder locomotive, end heavily built too!  If set up right with the springing Greenly Scots are powerful machines having the weight in their frames and castings to give them superb grip.  This particular loco has come from a museum collection so has been well cared for, if on static display for a good many years.  We are looking forward to recommissioning her and giving her the fresh steam she clearly deserves!

The boiler is copper and silver soldered, and can of course come with a fresh 4 year hydraulic test and annual steam test.  Fitted with two injectors, a particularly sturdy looking axle pump and footplate mounted bypass valve and a hand pump in the tender.  Lubrication is mechanical and hidden under the front running boards, driven from a chunky eccentric.  Paint finish is superb and generally mechanically speaking the model looks like it's hardly run.

Really solid and well presented Scot this one that deserves to be back out on the track again where it belongs!

We often photograph models pretty much as they come in to us, and then when someone phones to say they are interested we pull the model into our workshops and make sure everything is tested, sorted and ready to go.  So if you see the odd model photograph with a fitting missing or a return crank in the wrong place, that's just how it came in and certainly not how it will leave.
