Here we have a rather nicely done 5" gauge LNER B1 to Martin Evans ever popular 'Springbok' design. This one doesn't look like it's done too much running, and everything is certainly still nice and mechanically tight. Built clearly by a model engineer who intended it to be run,.... with nice big plugs into the valve chest for the easy application of oil after a run.
She is fitted with two injectors and a hand pump in the tender. Lubrication is mechanical and hidden under the front running boards as usual. The backhead is rather nicely covered with a neat cladding sheet so it looks very tidy on the footplate. There are other nice touches too, the rear valve chest covers are nicely detailed castings rather than the more usual plane machined jobs. All in all, the cumulative effect of all the nice little touches is that of a particularly lovely Springbok.5
The boiler is very neat looking where it can be seen, and she can be given a full fresh 4 year hydraulic test certificate and a fresh annual steam test so that she is ready to hit the track.
Hopefully the photographs will give you a lot more of the story, but for any more information please don't hesitate to give us a bell on 07816 963463
