Here we have a 5" gauge BR Class 17 battery electric loco and carriage. The carriage as you can see is both driving truck and battery vehicle, so with the batteries on board it's a heavy lump. The loco it's self runs well and appears to be a scratch built body, made from a combination of wood, metal and plastic. It's a little bit basic and rough round the edges when you get up close, which you can see in the photos, but the general appearance from a couple of feet away is convincing and good.
The carriage it's self has also obviously taken a lot of thought and work to make, and balances very well the scale detail appearance with a very robust wooden construction and metal chassis. Having the separate driving truck for the batteries like this has enabled chunky motors on the loco and room for a nicely detailed cab interior, whilst still having enough battery capacity to run for a good length of time.
